W3RTech Alabama Branch: Building a Future of Diversity in Technology and Liberal Arts

At W3RTech, we are on a mission to transform the landscape of technology and liberal arts education by creating inclusive opportunities for youth in Brewton, Alabama, and the surrounding Escambia County. By exposing underrepresented students to diverse phases of STEM and liberal arts, we aim to inspire creativity and broaden career possibilities for those who may not have otherwise had the chance to explore their full potential.

Our Mission in Alabama

Located at the John L. Fisher Community Center, W3RTech provides a platform for young minds to discover and engage with science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and liberal arts. Our goal is to cultivate innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs by offering hands-on experiences, mentorship, and exposure to real-world applications.

By addressing the well-documented underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM fields, W3RTech is committed to reshaping the narrative. Our programs ensure these students have access to engaging, practical learning experiences that spark their interest and confidence in pursuing STEM and liberal arts careers.

Who Benefits?

Students: Our primary beneficiaries are underrepresented youth who demonstrate an interest in STEM or liberal arts. These students gain exposure to disciplines such as drone technology, woodworking, and information technology, thanks to support from local organizations, including:

  • Provalus, Georgia Pacific, and Trustmark Bank.
  • Coastal Alabama Community College.
  • Escambia County Sheriff’s Department and Brewton Police Department.

Volunteers: High school and college students benefit from networking opportunities, volunteer hours, and valuable mentoring experience while giving back to their community.

Educators and Professionals: Educators and industry professionals use the program as a recruitment tool and an opportunity to share their passion for STEM and liberal arts while shaping future leaders.

Community Partnerships

Our program thrives through collaborations with local businesses, schools, civic organizations, and media outlets such as the Brewton Standard. Outreach programs like Skycap and Robotics Camp have been instrumental in building awareness and engagement in STEM and liberal arts fields.

By fostering a community of learners, volunteers, and professionals, W3RTech strengthens the fabric of Escambia County and promotes equity in education.
